Crystal Palace have submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against their demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League. Palace, who were punished for breaching multi-club ownership rules earlier this month, have lodged their appeal against UEFA, Lyon and Nottingham Forest.

“We travelled to Switzerland to represent all Palace supporters in this fight against a morally unjust decision from Uefa and to demonstrate the public mood demands this ruling is overturned and justice is served,” Holmesdale Fanatics member Mick Grafton told The Independent.

UEFA has demoted Crystal Palace to the third-tier Conference League because of the English cup winner’s ownership ties to French club Lyon through American businessman John Textor.
