Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed the club are hopeful of welcoming Kylian Mbappé back to action for the final Club World Cup group game against Red Bull Salzburg. Mbappé missed Madrid’s opener against Al Hilal with an illness which later required a short spell in hospital.

Kylian Mbappe was released from the hospital Thursday after being treated for an acute case of gastroenteritis. He trained at the club's hotel Friday.

Ill Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe did not travel to Charlotte for the team's Club World Cup match against Pachuca, but could be back for the final group stage game, coach Xabi Alonso said on Saturday.
