Arriving under the weight of a £72m transfer fee, Hojlund showed signs of struggling in his first months as a Man United striker. It took until Boxing Day of the 2023/24 campaign before his first Premier League goal to arrive and he finished strongly with 16 strikes in all competitions.

The 22-year-old struggled for form in 2024-25, scoring just 10 times across 52 appearances including a 21-match goalless streak.
