German biathlon champion Laura Dahlmeier has died in a climbing accident at a remote site on a mountain in northern Pakistan.

The Kurpark Partenkirchen in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is to be renamed Laura-Dahlmeier-Park. The location holds special significance for the former world-class biathlete.
