More than 30 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit a café near the port in Gaza City, according to the head of the territory’s largest hospital.

The cafe, one of the few businesses to continue operating during the war, was a gathering spot for people seeking internet access and a place to charge their phones.

Israeli strikes killed at least 58 people across Gaza on Monday as residents in the enclave's north reported one of the heaviest bombardments in weeks, while Israeli officials were due in Washington for a new ceasefire push by the Trump administration.
