A teacher arrested in the murder of a married couple found stabbed to death on a trail in an Arkansas park was held without bond after a brief court appearance on Friday. Andrew James McGann, 28, of Springdale, Arkansas, was appointed a public defender, according to ABC affiliate KHBS.

Arkansas authorities say a 28-year-old schoolteacher has admitted killing a couple who were hiking with their two young daughters at a state park.

Andrew James McGann was referred to as a "monster" by Arkansas State Police after he was charged with capital murder for the deaths of Clinton and Cristen Brink.
