Flooding is the deadliest natural disaster facing Oklahomans, a threat far greater than tornadoes. In the United States, flooding kills an average of 103 people a year. Tornadoes, however, caused 48 deaths on average during the same period, according to the National Weather Service.
The best chance of rain will be north and west of Central Texas this weekend, but we may see a few scattered storm make it into the area from time to time.
Severe storms are expected to move into Oklahoma late Friday and linger throughout the weekend, bringing a threat of damaging winds and flooding.
