The Memphis Grizzlies raised some eyebrows when they surprisingly traded shooting guard Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic on Sunday, and some reportedly feel the move indicates a murky future for the team.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN , Orlando sent Memphis the No. 16 pick in the 2025 NBA draft, its 2026 first-round pick (which includes swap rights with the Phoenix Suns or Washington Wizards) and its 2028 and 2030 unprotected first-round selections.

Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant has seen a lot of roster turnover in his six NBA seasons. Watching the Grizzlies trade backcourt mate Desmond Bane may be the most surprising yet. The Grizzlies traded Bane on June 15, acquiring guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony and four unprotected first-round picks from the Orlando Magic.
