WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The White House earlier this month directed the Defense Department and NASA to gather details on billions of dollars in SpaceX contracts following the public blowout between President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, four people familiar with the order told Reuters.

The White House ordered NASA and the Defense Department to collect detailed records on SpaceX’s federal contracts after President Trump clashed publicly with Elon Musk, according to Reuters. The decision was made earlier this month,

President Donald Trump said Thursday that “of course” Sen. Rand Paul is invited to the annual congressional picnic later in the day, amid a dispute with the Kentucky Republican over his invite to the long-held bipartisan gathering.

Addressing the bipartisan crowd on the White House lawn, Trump seemed to allude to a recent dust-up between himself and Paul, who has vocally opposed the GOP’s budget and the $45 million military parade for the Army’s 250th anniversary on Saturday, which is also Trump’s 79th birthday.

President Trump posted on social media to invite Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul to the Congressional Picnic. The post came after Sen. Paul claimed the White House revoked his invitation following disputes over the Republican budget bill.
