Yet substance abuse and mental health issues eventually forced the singer-songwriter-composer to withdraw from the world just as his professional star was reaching new heights.

For the latter, it returns to the chart for the first time since July 2015, and to its highest rank since Feb. 18, 1968, when it ranked at No. 110.
