The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ended one of their contract-related standoffs. First-round pick pass rusher Shemar Stewart has officially signed his rookie contract after a controversial stalemate regarding specific language regarding security of his guaranteed money.

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed their first-round draft pick. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Friday that the team agreed to a four-year, fully guaranteed contract for nearly $19 million with Shemar Stewart. “I can’t tell you how long I’ve been dreaming about this,” he said.

He consistently disrupted opposing quarterbacks, tallying 65 pressures over the past two seasons, tied for eighth in the SEC. At 21 years old, Stewart's blend of size, athleticism and raw tools gives the Bengals a promising developmental pass rusher.
