RAND () Function Excel uses the function RAND () to return a random and uniformly distributed number between 0 and 1, every time the worksheet is calculated.

Cryptography, too, relies heavily on random numbers for the generation of unbreakable keys. Better, cheaper ways of generating and handling such numbers are therefore always welcome.

If you know your data mean and its standard deviation, you can use the random number generator from the Excel Analysis ToolPak add-in or your own statistical data to chart a Gaussian curve.
