It’s the end of an era. Or rather, the end of an area code. As the 206 area code is almost exhausted in Seattle, a new code will hit the city next month.

The “206″ is getting a new friend. The Utilities and Transportation Commission announced Thursday a new plan to put a new area code to work in the Seattle area.
