Severe storms that popped up around North Dakota late Friday spawned several tornadoes in the central part of the state, including one just north of Bismarck.

Armstrong stopped Wednesday in Enderlin to survey the damage caused by the tornado that touched down about three miles south of the city. The twister, preliminarily classified as EF3, hit 160 mph and traveled northeast for 12 miles, according to the weather service.
