A GameStop damaged Nintendo Switch 2 displays after stapling receipts to the boxes, but buyers will receive replacements.
Some people reported an unwelcome surprise after picking up their Nintendo Switch 2 preorders at GameStop: staples used to attach receipts to Switch 2 boxes ended up damaging the screens on the console, as reported by IGN. However, GameStop says this was an issue that was “isolated” to a single store and that it has already offered replacements.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners are opening consoles with punctured screens due to store receipts being stapled into the front of the console's box.
According to a Reddit thread (via Wario64 ), customers showed up to a GameStop located in Staten Island, and after purchasing a Switch 2, their receipt was stapled to the box. It's worth noting that the Switch 2 box has thin cardboard,

Already, eBay is inundated with Switch 2 listings selling for $700 on average, $250 more than the console at its MSRP. Some listings for the system with Mario Kart World bundled in are asking for $800 or more.
