Nate White, 20, died June 25 at his apartment in Brookings, South Dakota, where he was a student-athlete at South Dakota State.

At Rufus King High School, White was a coveted prospect. "Four-star recruit by ESPN, three-star by Rivals and 247Sports," the Badgers summarized. "Earned AP second-team all-state honors in 2022, rushing for 1,345 yards and 26 touchdowns on 135 carries through 10 games."
