The NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder have taken the first step toward keeping their roster together, agreeing with center/forward Jaylin Williams on a multi-year contract extension on the big man's 23rd birthday.

Williams spent two college seasons at Arkansas. The Thunder drafted Williams with the No. 34 pick of the 2022 NBA draft. He's been part of their rotation in his three seasons in OKC. He was a starter in his rookie season and has been mostly a bench player since.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been busy this week. On top of winning the franchise title in team history, the Thunder have concluded the NBA Draft, introduced the rookies to the local media, made a trade and re-signed two important bench pieces.
