A day after the Broncos began training camp with full attendance and “one of the cleaner report dates that I can recall relative to (health),” according to head coach Sean Payton, Thursday featured the first player absence.
The Broncos are betting on the worst of Hufanga's injury woes being in the rear-view. Denver's player wellness and strength and conditioning program has yielded stunning results since Sean Payton arrived as head coach in 2023, so a player like Hufanga couldn't have landed in a better place.

Greenlaw was held out of OTAs and minicamp after sustaining a quadriceps injury while training in late April, but he has progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared for training camp. The veteran linebacker inked a three-year deal with the Broncos in March after spending the first six years of his NFL career with the 49ers.
Lindsay went from undrafted free agent to fan favorite in his three-year career with the Broncos. He's also the answer to a great trivia question as he was the last running back in team history to cross 1,000 yards rushing in a season, accomplishing that in 2019.
The Denver Broncos felt the need to improve their safety room, which led to the addition of Talanoa Hufanga, who comes with some risk. Hufanga pairs well with Brandon Jones, who looked on the cusp of emerging as a star last season, but the risk with Hufanga may come back to bite the Broncos.
