DC police chief authorizes sharing information with immigration agencies during traffic stops but prohibits arrests based solely on federal immigration warrants.

Trump said he was going to “look at” taking action in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles because of their crime rates when he announced his plans to take control of DC’s police department this week.

A social services advocate said moving people away from outreach workers and meal programs will interrupt services and traumatize them further.
