VJ Edgecombe could become the first Philadelphia 76ers player to wear No. 77. The Sixers shared a video on Thursday of the No. 3 pick of the 2025 NBA draft signing a photograph with his new number. No previous players have worn No. 77 for the Sixers franchise, according to Basketball Reference.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft on Wednesday night.Edgecombe, the high-flying athletic guard, was named the Big 12 freshman of the year after one season at Baylor.

The Bahamas native played at Victory International Training Institute in West Palm Beach for two seasons before transferring to New York.
