Sir Keir Starmer and five other European leaders will accompany Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Washington, in a major show of unity ahead of peace talks with Donald Trump. The Ukrainian war leader will land in the US as he returns to the White House after President Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Mr Zelensky says he will once again push for a trilateral meeting between himself, Trump and Putin after he was excluded from the Alaska summit. The White House has released the official timetable for the day ahead. European leaders will arrive there at about 5pm BST (12pm EST).
