HBO's recent casting decision for its upcoming “Harry Potter” series has sparked controversy online, with fans criticising the selection of Italian actress Alessia Leoni to play Parvati Patil, a character of Indian origin from the original books and films.

Sets are being built for the Harry Potter TV series in the UK, and we now have a first look at what will eventually become Platform 9¾, the hidden pathway to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The British actor has been cast as Severus Snape, the potions professor at Hogwarts. Alan Rickman played Snape in all eight Harry Potter films. Essiedu earned several nominations for his role in the BBC’s I May Destroy You and co-starred with Saoirse Ronan in The Outrun, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

Rigby most recently starred in shows such as “I, Jack Wright,” “Renegade Nell,” and “Tom Jones.” He is also set to appear in Amazon’s upcoming sci-fi series “Blade Runner 2099,” which continues the story of the film franchise. He won a BAFTA TV Award for best actor in 2011 for his starring role in “Eric and Ernie.”
